Facebook and Instagram have experienced a significant outage believed to be affecting Meta’s platforms on a large scale.
Users attempting to access the sites and apps encountered error messages and were unable to refresh their feeds. Downdetector, a monitoring website, showed a high number of reported outages for both Facebook and Instagram across various countries. Meta has acknowledged the problem and stated that they are currently addressing it.
Meta has been contacted for a statement. According to its official status page, the company’s services are currently facing significant disruptions.
The status page states, “We are aware of a problem affecting Facebook Login. Our engineering teams are actively working to fix the issue as soon as possible.”
Additionally, Meta’s communications officer Andy Stone mentioned, “We understand that users are experiencing difficulties accessing our services. We are actively addressing this.”
