WhatsApp Premium Subscription Model Under Testing for Business Profiles: Report

According to a report, WhatsApp Premium, a subscription-based model, is being explored for WhatsApp Business. Business accounts can opt to pay a set amount for numerous features and capabilities under this approach. WhatsApp Business profile owners can reportedly opt out of WhatsApp Premium and use the current version instead. The feature would allow organizations to attach up to 10 devices after they subscribe to a plan, according to the first mention of a subscription plan in April.

The news was first reported by WABetainfo, which claims that WhatsApp Premium is being tested for Android, Desktop, and iOS. According to the platform, the capability is only available to commercial accounts and is optional. The subscription plans have not yet been revealed, however it is assumed that paying for the feature will grant WhatsApp Business profiles access to additional capabilities.

According to WABetainfo, one of WhatsApp Premium’s features could be the option to link and name up to ten devices. When using multi-device, users can normally connect up to four devices. WhatsApp may also enable businesses to create their own special business link. It should be remembered that firms can already use short connections to reach clients. A bespoke link should serve the same purpose as a short link, but it may be easier to remember and give branding.

WhatsApp was recently rumoured to be testing conversation filters for all users, which would make it easier to identify certain talks (currently only available on WhatsApp Business). WhatsApp has begun detecting “legal” identities of users who have activated the app’s UPI-based payment feature. According to a rumor, WhatsApp is also working on a feature that would allow users to select a cover image on their WhatsApp Business profiles.
