Netflix adds a new feature for members to move their profiles to new accounts. The streamer has been on a quest to mitigate accounts being shared. They have taken measures to add extra charges on accounts with shared passwords. On their quest comes a new feature, the “Profile transfer”. This option allows members to move their profiles to new accounts without rebuilding. This is a move to maintain users to a point where passwords can’t be shared anymore.
The feature reassures the user with data security; they will be assured that collected information about viewing habits and preferences is set and won’t have to be recreated. Users won’t have to start from scratch if and when they move to new accounts. It can be found on the profile icon on the Netflix homepage. It can also be turned off in the account settings. Subscribers will be made aware of the new feature through their mail today.

After the test of the password-sharing feature, it was reported that the streamer found about 100 million households had mooches living off their accounts. Netflix introduced various features across various geographical locations to help monetize the extra freeloaders
In March, Netflix launched an “extra members” feature in Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru, making subscribers pay an extra fee for additional people mooching off their accounts. A similar feature, “add a home” feature, began testing in Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.
This measure comes as no shock as they lost a million subscribers at the end of Q3. Just last week, the streamer launched an ad tier.
