YouTube music rollout its own recap for users’ listening habits for the year. This is similar to Spotify wrapped, something that has been a social tradition online across various social networks as users share their listening experiences and their favourite artists.
This feature was released last year and it’s to compete with Spotify. The feature allows users to see their top artists, songs, music videos, playlists, and more. This year, the company says it’s making the experience more immersive.
The 2022 Recaps will show “Top Trends” and will show your new artist discoveries. It comes with the “identity” feature that gets you a personalized “music personality” that captures the mood and type of the music you’ve been listening to. Recaps will include unique-to-YouTube content like remixes in shorts and live concerts that you revisited a couple of times while using the app.

These new features aren’t exclusive to YouTube Music but are available also on YouTube’s main app. You can access your recap by searching “2022 Recap” on your devices. You will see your Recap playlist and you can click on the stories banner to view your personalized stories. When you get access to your recap playlist, you can share it on socials.
