WhatsApp Introduces New Feature That Allows Users to Join Ongoing Calls Directly From Group Chats
WhatsApp group call notification will now show the name of the group instead of its participants

WhatsApp’s joinable calls feature, which allows users to join an ongoing group video, has been linked straight into group conversations. Users can now join an ongoing group call directly from the group chat page, thanks to the latest update. In July of this year, WhatsApp offered joinable calls for the first time.

By combining it with WhatsApp groups, the instant messaging service has made significant enhancements to the feature. Group call alerts will now display the name of the group rather than the names of the members, thanks to the newest update.

WhatsApp’s joinable calls feature has undergone a few tweaks. From the group chat window, a user can now join an ongoing WhatsApp group call. All active group video and audio calls will now be available in your conversations, which you may join right away when you open the app.

“We’re making it easier for you to connect with your groups on the spur of the moment. With a single click, you may join ongoing calls with your groups at any time, easily, and immediately from the chat view “According to the company, which is owned by Facebook.

When a group call is launched, all members have the option of joining right away or later. Within the group chat, the latter will see a distinct tab with a Join button, which they can tap to join the call. According to WhatsApp, instead of the names of the members, the call notice would say the name of the group.

It’s worth noting that you can only join a group call if you’re a member of the relevant WhatsApp group. According to WhatsApp, calls will now have a lighter separate ringtone, making them feel “as light as sending and receiving a message.”

Over the last week, WhatsApp has been adding new features to entice new users while still ensuring the privacy of existing users. For Android and iOS users, it recently began rolling out end-to-end encryption for backups saved on Google Drive and iCloud.

The messaging company is also apparently adding a global audio message player to its existing voice messages feature. When users look at recent chats, they will be able to listen to voice messages. Currently, the upgrade is being developed for beta testers.

Separately, WhatsApp is said to be updating its ‘Disappearing Communications’ function, which will allow users to pick between 24 hours, seven days, or 90 days for messages to vanish.
