WhatsApp is finally working on the ability to modify text messages for a future update of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop, after disclosing that certain significant features such as group polls and WhatsApp Premium are in development.

WhatsApp is finally focusing on building more messaging capabilities, and we’re excited to share the next big thing with you today. WhatsApp is working on allowing users to edit their text messages in a future version after providing the ability to reply to messages as a new messaging feature.

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will allow us to edit text messages after they have been sent, allowing us to correct any typos! There will most likely be no edit history to review prior versions of modified messages, but as this feature is still in development, their plans may change before it is released.

Furthermore, details concerning the time window during which users will be able to update their messages are yet unknown, but we will notify you as soon as we learn more.

Even though this screenshot is from the WhatsApp beta for Android, WhatsApp is working on bringing the same feature to the WhatsApp beta for iOS and Desktop, and additional information will be released later.

Unfortunately, because this feature is still in development, we don’t know when it will be given to beta testers, but you can expect an updated post on this website once it is.
