Google is developing a new artificial intelligence tool that can generate news articles from data and facts. The tool is called “Genesis”, internally. It is designed to help journalists and content creators produce high-quality and accurate stories in a faster and easier way.

Genesis is based on a deep learning technique called Transformer. Transformer is a neural network architecture that processes natural language and generates coherent texts. Google claims that Genesis can handle complex and diverse tasks, such as summarizing data, answering questions, writing headlines, and creating narratives.

According to Google, Genesis is still in the early stages of development and testing, and it is not intended to replace human writers. Instead, it is meant to augment their work by providing them with relevant information and suggestions. Google says that it will adhere to ethical and responsible principles, such as ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability.

However, AI tools for journalism also pose some challenges and risks, such as potential bias, misinformation, plagiarism, and manipulation. Experts and researchers have called for more regulation and oversight of these technologies, as well as more education and awareness among the users and the public.
