YouTube Introduce The Download Feature For Browsers

Internet users are familiar with the frustration that comes with trying the different “480, 720 (HD) and 1080 quality mp4” video from YouTube. The platform is introducing a feature for its browser version that makes such situations yesterday’s problem.

YouTube is testing this download feature on browsers on October 19. The feature will be available for its Premium users. The feature has been existing on the mobile versions of the platform. This is ongoing that allows the premium users to test what works on the platform.

Video download feature will be default for Premium users; uploaders don’t need to choose the option. The latest versions of Edge, Chrome, and Opera will be able to access this function through the download button or the 3-dot menu while surfing the net. Users will be able to access their downloads through a menu via the sidebar menu.

The downloads won’t be stored locally but in the YouTube cache with 30 days’ access. Downloads will be available offline. The feature is also available in the progressive web app (PWA) version of YouTube.
