Disappearing messages allow us to communicate more discreetly, however you may send a very essential message and wish to preserve it to read later when the disappearing mode is active. In this situation, WhatsApp is working on a future upgrade of WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and desktop that will include saved messages!
When people exchange a critical message in a disappearing conversation that they don’t want to lose, they can keep it by avoiding its expiration with saved messages: in other words, you can prevent some disappearing messages from disappearing in a future version of WhatsApp.
We’ve previously reported on keeping disappearing messages in WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.9.0.72 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.7.4, but we have some fresh information to share today:

As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp is going to offer a new area within Contact Info and Group Info that includes all kept communications so they may be viewed later: since anyone in the chat might choose to un-keep such messages, WhatsApp is working on making it easier to find them.
WhatsApp is also working on new ways to identify messages that have been saved, but we’ll get to that later. Even though the screenshot was obtained from the WhatsApp Desktop beta, the same area is being developed for the WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, and we’ll let you know when it’s available.
We don’t know when this feature will be ready because it is still in development. When more information regarding the messages that have been retained becomes available, this website will undoubtedly publish an article.
