The TestFlight beta Program has recently received a fresh update from WhatsApp, bringing the software version to 22.18.0.72. The TestFlight build is 22.18.0, while the version indicated in WhatsApp Settings is 2.22.18.72. (392649584).
What has been added in this update? In a future version to the app, WhatsApp plans to include participant profile photographs in group chats!
Profile Photos-Group Chat
WhatsApp is developing new group chat features. We have more wonderful news to share with you today after introducing a new feature that is in the works and allows users to build polls to share with other group members. We learned that the firm is preparing to include certain enhancements for the UI within group chats in a future release of the app thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.18.0.72 upgrade:
This screenshot shows that WhatsApp is preparing to add a feature that has been sought for a while: group member profiles! In a future update of the app, the profile pictures of other group members will appear next to all incoming messages within the group chat. This feature will be made available to beta testers. Similar to the reaction preview, this feature cannot be turned off because it is always turned on by default for all group members and has no switch.
We do not yet know when WhatsApp will make the improvements available to users because this functionality is still in development. When additional information about this feature becomes available, we will let you know about it in a new post on this page.
