Threads is a new social media platform that is taking the world by storm. You may have heard of it. It has been trending all day on Twitter. People are making a big push for it as the next social following the mess that is Twitter. Either way, I’m here to tell you what it is, how to use it, and why you should join it.

Threads is a platform that lets you create and join conversations on any topic you can think of. Unlike Twitter, where you have to squeeze your thoughts into 280 characters, Threads gives you unlimited space to express yourself. You can also reply to other people’s threads, or start your own sub-threads within them. It’s like having a mini-forum for every topic.

To use Threads, you need to create an account. It’s very easy and fast. Just go to their website, enter your email and password, and voila! You’re in. You can also choose a username and a profile picture if you want to personalize your account. You can join with your Instagram account; this is the most preferred by users.

Once you have an account, you can start browsing threads on the homepage. You can also search for threads by keywords, or create your own thread by clicking on the “New Thread” button. You can write anything you want in your thread, as long as it follows the community guidelines. You can also add images, videos, links, emojis, and hashtags to make your thread more engaging.

Threads do not have a timeline like Twitter. Instead, it shows you the most popular and recent threads on the homepage. It is a mix of posts from accounts you follow and other people. You can also follow other users and see their threads on your “Following” page. You can also like, comment, share, and bookmark threads that interest you.

The home timeline is algorithmic and it is a mix of posts from accounts you follow and other folks.

“We do rank posts lightly and show recommendations (posts from accounts you don’t follow) in the feed, which is particularly important for a new app before people follow enough accounts,” Instagram head Adam Mosseri said in a reply to a user.

Threads is still a new platform, so it may not have all the features that Twitter has. For example, it does not have verified accounts, direct messages, polls, or live streams. However, the developers are working hard to improve the platform and add new features. They also listen to user feedback and suggestions, so if you have any ideas on how to make Threads better, you can contact them through their website or social media accounts.

Threads doesn’t let you edit or delete your messages, which means you have to live with your typos and regrets forever. It doesn’t let you react to messages with emojis or stickers. For now, there are no hashtags. It permits only lets you chat with one person at a time, which is very limiting if you have more than one friend. Or if you want to gossip about someone. with the platform being so new, we are to assume some changes are along the way to make the social space fun.
