It is finally here. To the delight of its users, it seems Twitter has obliged and given its users one of their most requested features. The “edit button” is finally here. Hold your horses, you might have to wait for a while depending on your location. Twitter Blue is holding the test for the beta test of their new feature.
The “edit button” will be available to Twitter Blue’s US subscribers and also to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The feature has been long requested by fans. It gathered steam when it was polled by Elon Musk which gained around 80 million votes on the platform. Users will be able to edit tweets 30 minutes after. The edits can include typos, hashtags, clarification of tweets, or correcting mistakes in sent tweets. Tweets can be edited 5 times within 30 minutes of it being sent.
It comes with checks to curtail its abuse of it. Its use will be publicly logged and visible to all users to see. The number of times for use is put in place to check its abuse also. Others are concerned that bad actors will use the feature in misleading ways. This is something that was part of the consideration of the feature as is being rolled out.
Other issues will be ironed out during this test period before is released globally which seems likely after this period. There is a concern of the feature need being quelled a little after the effort held on the platform with its “undo button”. This is all to be seen but this is a feature most users will be happy to see it being there.
