Three weeks ago, we reported on a brand-new WhatsApp beta for iOS feature that was in development: the capacity to conceal the online state. You will be able to select who can see you on WhatsApp when you are online thanks to this functionality. Today, we learned that WhatsApp is finally working on introducing the same feature in a future release of the Android app due to the new WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.16.12 update!

This screenshot shows the new last seen and online feature that WhatsApp plans to add to Privacy Settings > Last Seen. You can choose between “same as last saw” and “everyone” in this section to control who can see when you’re online. When you select the second option, it will transfer the settings from the last seen. For instance, if you select “same as last seen,” no one will be able to see when you’re online save for “My contacts except.”
Unfortunately, because it is still in development, this function is not yet available to consumers, but we should be glad that WhatsApp is working on it as of this release. We will be pleased to tell you of any updates as soon as they become available in a new article on this website.
